Rush Limbaugh supports “Obamacare”

It is pretty hard to believe that the overweight, narcissist, self-loathing enigma that is Rush Limbaugh will support anything that President Obama is proposing, but it is true. After all, this is the same guy that said “I hope he fails” regarding the Obama Presidency. In a statement following his hospitalization due to chest pains, while he was vacationing in Hawaii, Rush Limbaugh believes that “Obamacare” will work. Well, he didn’t come out and say it that way. However, by politicizing his press conference, at Queens Hospital, as an attempt to rail against the current health care legislation—he made the case!!

Hawaii, one of the most progressive States in the union, has made it a requirement that all employers provide generous health care for employees who work 20 hours a week or more.  A requirement that goes as far back as 1974.

According to an article written by Gardiner Harris in “The New York Times” the proposed health care legislation was crafted by many of the policies that Hawaii enacted in their State.

Furthermore, the article continues to state that

“This is a state where regular milk sells for $8 a gallon, gasoline costs $3.60 a gallon and the median price of a home in 2008 was $624,000 — the second-highest in the nation. Despite this, Hawaii’s health insurance premiums are nearly tied with North Dakota for the lowest in the country, and Medicare costs per beneficiary are the nation’s lowest.”

For a person who makes, in excess of $33 million a year he would be correct in saying that “America has the best health care”, but as a Conservative in a heavily progressive State, which serves as a model for universal health care, it serves as a big kick in the crotch to his ideals.  It also speaks to the blatant hypocrisy that is all Rush Limbaugh stands for.  It is also worth noting that he referred to Hawaii as a part of The United States of America, a point worth noting since Barack Obama was born there.
