What if a complete and total stranger walked up to you and exclaimed “The end of the world is near! Run, go and save yourselves–for the time of judgement is upon us!”. How would you react? Would you even react or would you dismiss this person as a total loon? This does happen, and it especially happens in la-la land (California). Let’s face it–there will come a day when this miracle of life will cease to exist. The main question is when. When will “it” end? Some people think the “end of days” will be on 12/21/12. However, I’m not one of them. I’m also not a person who particularly cares about when life would end. I am a person that likes to be rooted in the present. Specifically, in the way we treat one another. Respect is earned, and when we disrespect one another than we get what we deserve. We cannot be a nation of people–by which we solve all our problems with threats and weapons. The recent event in Arizona is just an example of the shear ignorance that is plaguing this nation. What is also ignorant is for the people on the wrong side of the political spectrum to think that everything is alright, and to think that this act was a result of the angry liberals. We live in real tough times. We live in times when many people don’t seek knowledge. This is mainly due to the fact that we are arrogant into believing that as Americans we are all-knowing. We are not, and to think so is ignorant. With that said, how would those people respond to someone who approaches them to tell them that the World will end? Would they join them in spreading the message or would they call them un-American? I’m not sure what to think. All I can say is that I’m going to continue to work, because I have bills to pay.
